lucky girl

oops, i already missed a day. yesterday was good. i went over to taylors early and we hung out and ate a little, watched tv. then decided we wanted to go out for a little while. which was really nice, i havent had a girls night in a long time! so we had a lot of fun. my phone died though and i missed andrews call =( so i'm still waiting on a call back.

but taylor got an email saying they're scheduled to be here FRRIIIIIDAAAAAY!! that's so close! i feel like i have a ton of work to do around here. the house is not even as dirty as i make it seem to be, i just want everything to be perfect. i'm extremely excited!!!!

another thing to look forward to is my mom and dad in law are coming here to witness andrew and i getting married!! i'm really glad they're going to be here. they've always been here for me, i love them to death!! i really got lucky and was blessed with the best in laws EVER! so hopefully we can show them around palm springs and stuff while they're here! that will be fun!! i'll post the date we're getting married up as soon as it's final!

and last but definitely not least, we got our plane tickets to come home october 2nd! so we'll be staying for about a week and then driving my car, with hank, all the way back here to cali. it's definitely going to be interesting. i plan on video taping a lot of it. it's going to be really cool to drive across country, how many people can say that?? so i'm really excited about that, also.

so basically i have everything to look forward to and i'm sooo happy right now! i'm a lucky girl! i'm going to go watch a movie and go to sleep. hopefully he'll call and wake me up!

snail mail

i just want to start by saying *andrew is coming home next week!* the guys are supposed to start their trip home tomorrow! i'm so excited and happy they're all getting back safely... and we'll always remember the ones that did not. our fallen heroes.

but moving on to a lighter note, i got mail today... and it was a lot. a few of the guys went ahead and mailed their "trunks" (all their stuff) here to our house until they figure out whether they're going to stay on base or not. so i got two big trunks today. it just gave me an awesome reality check that they're not far from home. all i could do was smile! but the two that arrived are only from one of the guys so i have a lot more to look forward to! and then to top it off, i got some snail mail from kath. a cute little card, but it meant the world... i love getting little "thinking of you" things. it gives me a boost. thank you kath, i loved it!

so today i cleaned. not a whole lot, but it's a work in progress. i have to have it done before andrew gets home of course, so i better get crackin'. also, the wives make posters to take when the guys arrive and i'm trying to think of something clever to put on mine... let me know if you have any ideas.

last night was awesome, i loved hanging out with the girls! i'm so happy we all get along so well, i was getting scared there for a minute about actually making friends here. but they're hilarious! and of course the gamecocks won! so that just made the night that much better! i headed home around 12am. of course i have insomnia, so i finally took at nap at 9am, woke up at 12pm. hopefully i will crash tonight and get back on schedule.

i'll keep this one short today, not really too much to tell. i'm going to go throw together something to call dinner and hit the hay!

Bloggy Wog

so i'm thinking to myself today, as i'm watching Ross "the intern" Matthews' "Talky Blog", that this really does look like a lot of fun. so i decided it would be a great idea to get my own blog. and so, i did... on myspace. and then my soon-to-be sister-in-law (that was a lot of hyphens...) sent me a message saying that this site has a lot more features. so i come and check it out, and this is pretty awesome... i must say. so now, i'm officially hooked. it's very addicting. of course you can always say what you want in real life, but it always feels better if you write about it for some reason, doesnt it? like your point lives on forever. what's better than that?

so here's the story about my day...

i had a pretty nonproductive morning... sometimes i just get off to a slow start (sometimes i dont start at all). i, unfortunately, am addicted to the TV shows that they like to call "reality". it's so fake and i'm not really a fan with a lot of the characters, but for some reason... i cant stop myself. it's a guilty pleasure, i guess. so anyway, i got a call from andrew around 12:55 pm. we talked for about half an hour (which is his time limit, being in iraq). good news, though, he'll be home in a week! i dont think i've ever been so excited! so after we got off the phone, i was planning on cleaning until the football game came on (opening day for Carolina Gamecocks, cant miss it) but then my new friend, taylor, told me to come watch it over at her house and hang out with her and eryka, another friend i've made. so of course i skipped the cleaning and just headed over there. they really are awesome girls! i'm so glad i've found some nice people out here! so we talked and ate food, drank a beer or two, i watch the gamecocks kick nc states ass! it was an awesome night. and i really needed that! and to end it with a funny text from kath, my best friend from back home in sc. she was picking on an old teacher we had in high school who was OBSESSED with beastie boys... dont even ask.

so now, i'm going to go crash and try and be a little more productive around the house tomorrow. wish me luck!
